Out in the survivorship community
Oncera shows up in person — at survivorship fairs, clinics, and community gatherings — to listen to survivors, share the science, and build alongside the people we serve.

Ascension Wisconsin Cancer Survivorship Educational Health Fair
On National Cancer Survivor Day, Ascension Wisconsin brought survivors, families, and clinicians together for “The Survivorship Village: Where Healing Continues.” Guided by the message “walking forward with you,” the day paired four expert breakout sessions with a village of community resource tables — a calm, self-paced space to learn, connect, and find support for life after treatment. Oncera was proud to take part as both a featured speaker and a vendor.
A featured talk
Epigenetics after cancer: how everyday habits support recovery
Oncera founder Rutu Ruparel was one of four expert speakers at the fair, presenting “Epigenetics After Cancer — How Everyday Habits Support Your Body's Recovery.” She walked survivors through why so many survivorship symptoms have biological explanations — and how the daily signals we send our bodies can shape recovery long after treatment ends.
- Many survivorship symptoms have biological explanations
- Your body keeps recovering and adapting after treatment
- Daily signals matter: light, movement, food, stress regulation, and sleep timing
- Recovery is shaped by small signals repeated over time
- Even small habits can support the body’s systems

At the Survivorship Village
Connecting with survivors, one conversation at a time
From our resource table, the Oncera team spent the day in conversation with survivors and caregivers — listening to what life after treatment really looks like, and sharing how simple, personalized, evidence-based daily support can help. Visitors explored the platform, learned about our Ascension Wisconsin survivorship research study, and saw firsthand why what you do after treatment matters most.
